Imagining a Better World
PEOPLE · STORIES · CHANGE
We highlight people and everyday leaders who are moved to act on the problems facing their communities.
We hope our films encourage people to create local changes that resonate beyond the expected.

Professor by day. Filmmaker by night.
I fuse my filmmaking with social justice through the lens of the camera and through critical research.
I was born in India, grew up in London and arrived as a professor at UC Santa Barbara in 1991, and began making documentary films in the 2000s. I am active in efforts to create social justice and a more livable planet through anti-racism, feminism, and movements that foster greater economic equality.
Big changes can happen on a small scale.
We craft documentaries that show how.
Around the world, people work to protect the planet.
We reflect and amplify their voices.
We share stories about the necessary work of social justice.
